Due to the success of last year's Female Offenders Conference, The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre is excited to announce an additional conference on the 21st April 09 at a new Manchester venue:

Child Sexual Abuse: The Female Offender

The last 20 years has seen a dramatic shift in attitudes and beliefs regarding the prevalence of the sexual abuse of children, however, tackling female sex offenders remains an area that is still met with incredulity by professionals and poorly represented in the media.

By better understanding the dynamic of this offence and the lasting and isolating impact on victims by female offenders, it is possible that we can, in time, better tackle this crime, reverse the tide of underreporting and bring this taboo issue out into the light.

If you work in child abuse investigation, child protection, public protection, victim care or are involved in the treatment and rehabilitation of offenders, understanding the nature of female sexual offending is essential.
