Child-Safe Sponsored Charity Cycle Ride – 2004 - 30 April 2004

Over the weekend of Friday 30 April to Sunday 2 May 2004, Child-Safe held its annual fund-raising Sponsored Charity Cycle Ride. A group of 25 cyclists, assisted by 10 support volunteers, cycled from Bristol, via Stratford upon Avon and Cambridge, to the end destination of Bridge Cottage (a National Trust Property) at Flatford near Harwich. The mileage covered was 250 miles for Elite cyclists and 180 miles for Challenge cyclists. Conditions for cycling over the first couple of days were difficult, with especially heavy rain on the second day, however everyone made a tremendous personal effort to finish each day and still be in good spirits. We were rewarded with a bright and sunny last day and a superb end to the event. As a thank you to all those who took part, family and friends were invited to a celebratory party which was held on the evening of Monday 3 May.

Child-Safe would like to extend their thanks to everyone who contributed to this successful event. The sponsorship money raised is now being collected and this money will be used to help deliver Child-Safe both locally and nationally.
