South Gloucestershire Child-Safe Seminars

If you are part of a club or organisation involving children and young people in South Gloucestershire then you can benefit from the safeguarding advice that the Child-Safe initiative promotes.

What is Child-Safe?

Child-Safe is a national child protection initiative, set up originally by the Avon and Somerset Constabulary and now adapted for local delivery in South Gloucestershire.

Child-Safe is a registered charity (www.child-safe.org.uk) set up to provide practical advice, and promote the safety, welfare and protection of children and young people involved in sport and community groups. This initiative is about improving care, reducing opportunities of abuse in its widest sense and helping all those parents/carers, organisers or volunteers who are involved in supporting youngsters in such activities.

The scheme is entirely free of charge and provides clubs with a seminar and resource pack to enable them to put in place child protection measures.

Organisers, leaders, parents and carers can feel more reassured that child protection will be taken seriously within clubs using this scheme.

How can my club or organisation get involved?

If your club or organisation would like to find out more or book a place on one of the seminars, contact the Child-Safe Administrator on 01454 866213.

The seminars and packs are FREE.
