North Somerset Child-Safe Seminars

Child-Safe is a Child Protection initiative, established by Avon and Somerset Constabulary, to give Sports Clubs and Organisations the necessary information to put in place Child Protection procedures. Child-Safe will also enable clubs to take steps reducing the opportunities for abuse to take place.

Since the Child-Safe scheme was launched, monthly seminars have been taking place across the district. By attending a seminar your club will receive instruction and guidance in setting up its own procedures and publicising them. The seminar programme is shown and if you are interested in attending, please contact Jane Bassett, tel 01275 810995 or e-mail jane.bassett@n-somerset.gov.uk.

All clubs and organisations attending the seminars will receive a North Somerset Child-Safe pack. The pack has been designed for everyone involved in children and young people’s sport and group activities and will help organisations provide a safer environment for children. It gives all the necessary information required to develop an effective child protection scheme. Organisers, leaders and parents can feel reassured that child protection will be taken seriously within such clubs. All seminars and packs are free of charge.
